I’ve been in my own business for a year now. It’s going ok. of course, Covid has caused some strange business impact. I don’t have a basis for comparison so I can only speculate how the business and the societal shutdown interact.

I am celebrating by taking the time to attend an industry conference – DJI Airworks. I have already learned a bit about how drone technology is being applied across the industries. The biggest is public safety and conservation. I can use the drone technology in many different ways.

This blog is about the meta business aspect – is this a good business? So far, the answer is that the business is not too good during a massive recession. until March, I had a small but increasing customer base and services. Since then, I’ve had a couple of “pick up” jobs but nothing significant.

What I don’t have is the data to know one way or another. I can’t tell. the data is skewed. I can’t tell and this bothers me. I do know that the Albany drone pilot community is growing strong, and I think that is good. but it makes for a lot of competition which creates more marketing need .
